Makes a large family-size salad
1/2 iceberg lettuce
1/2 romaine lettuce
About 1/2 package wild garlic
About 1/2 package chives
A few loose tarragon leaves
2 fresh cucumbers
Parmesan cheese (a great addition to any dairy meal)
7 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Kinneret Farm Silan Spicy Sauce
2 garlic cloves, crushed
Salt and ground black pepper
- Chop the lettuce to medium pieces and chop the herbs very finely.
- Crush and add the nuts.
- Use a vegetable peeler to cut the cucumbers into very thin strips.
- Add the sunflower seeds to the salad raw, or sauté quickly in a pan with a little butter and 1 tbsp silan.
- The parmesan can be added in long strips using the peeler, or grated.
To prepare the dressing: Combine all the ingredients in a jar and mix with a hand blender.
Makes a light, fun summer salad that’s easy to put together.
